Chapter 10

“Your adorable.” Josh commented, glancing at me. He was grinning ear to ear, and laced our fingers together. I leaned into his side, and breathed, completely content.
“Your not bad yourself, Josh.” I listened to his light chuckle, as we continued to walk down an old dirt path. The only thing I felt was pure bliss, despite the cool weather. I would do this forever if I could.
We had parked a few miles back. Josh had told me that we really didn’t need to shift. At least, I talked him out of it. I could tell he was a little bummed but I didn’t want to embarrass myself. I guess he understood. I don’t know.
The trees were orange because of the sun setting. Funny, we’d been out all day long, just walking. Id never complain about being around Josh. The small talk we made, made everything worth it. Every cold breath, and every single step. After these time spend together, I feel closer to him.
“Not bad?” He joked. “I don’t think you’ve ever seen someone as handsome as me.” I rolled my eyes and tried to cover my smile. “You’ve got a point.”
I stopped abruptly, and threw my arms around his neck. My lips lightly touched his and his arms instantly wrapped around my waist. My lips lingered on his for a brief moment before I pressed my head into his chest.
It’s crazy. Four weeks ago I never thought that I would find a mate, or be happy. I never even thought I’d be alive now. Things happened so fast, but I wouldn’t change them for the world.
His hands fell lower, and I sucked in a deep breath. My eyes closed and I felt my heart almost leap from my chest.
“16.” I muttered, not even noticing. I was thinking aloud. “What?” He replied, without saying another word. “When I was 16, I thought about ending my life while imprisoned, what if I did? You wouldn’t have found me and-” his lips touched mine, and I squeezed my eyes shut.
“I wouldn’t be happy.” He finished. His grip on me tightened and I managed to hide my tears. I wasn’t going to break down, not at this moment. He took me out here to, I don’t know, but not a full on break down from me.
“It’s cold out here.” I commented like it wasn’t obvious. I simply nodded. “Yeah, let’s go warm up in the car.” My voice was a little hinting, and I heard him chuckle.
“No, no, no. I don’t want to hurt you, and your not losing it in my car, as much as I’d like to-” he paused, and leaned closer to my ear, “that is something special. I’ll surprise you- I promise.” He smirked.
“Or you don’t have to surprise me.” I muttered.
“I don’t want to hurt you, Janet…” He said so softly it was almost too hard to hear. It’s not going to hurt any worse than what I’ve already felt. I thought to myself.
“I want you Josh.” I whined. “You’ve already claimed me. Like you said, I’m yours.” I closed my eyes tighter and I felt him sigh.
“Okay Janet, just…brace yourself. But were not doing it in my car.” He smirked as I pulled away.
I wanted to show him I was this adorable, innocent 18 year old. I wanted all of him, and with his mark on me, he’s claiming what is his. He should finally treat me like it, and not some middle school love story.

“Are you sure?” He asked, pressing his lips to mine quickly. He pushed open the front door to the house, and stared around. As I guessed, the house was packed. I mean, it’s a Wednesday.
I simply nodded. He pressed his back against the counter, and pressed his lips to mine again. My heart pounded.
“Positive?” I guess me telling him yes for a hundred times means I’m still not sure. He’s only looking out for me and making sure I’m ready, but it’s annoying. I kissed his bottom lip and rolled my eyes.
“Yes, I’m very positive. It’s worth it,” I stared and stood on my tip toes, “only if it’s you.” I lightly grazed my lip over his mark and felt him shiver.,
“Talk about PDA.” Josh’s mother commented, shuffling around in the kitchen. Josh turned to look at her, and as embarrassed as I was I pressed my head into his chest. He lightly chuckled.
“I’m 21 mom..” I could tell he was rolling his eyes. He’s the type of guy that doesn’t like being told what to do. It was obvious.
“I know..but I just don’t want to see your tongue down the girls throat.” She sighed. “Nothing against you Janet, I just find that foul. That should be something in the bedroom, you know?” She was really stubborn. I rolled my eyes against his chest and pulled away. “I understand, ma’am.” I gave her a grin.
“Now, would you two like to help me make supper? It’ll just be us, and your father.” She grinned at the two of us and I smiled back at her. “That’d be lovely.”
“Alright, does baked chicken sound good?” Josh grinned, “sounds great, but I’m spicing it, mom.” He commented, quickly kissing my forehead and walking to the fridge.
She hooked her arm around my shoulders and grinned. “Finally got him to cook something, anyways- wanna help me make a cherry pie for dessert?”
“I don’t understand.” I groaned, and wiped my forehead with the back of my hand. I didn’t understand how to make dough from scratch. The first two batches were too runny, and I cannot knead this one. Josh’s mother, Marianna, went to the bathroom and never came back.
“You have flour all over your head.” He chuckled lightly, and rinsed the spices from his hands after putting the chicken in the oven. I rolled my eyes and wiped my head with a towel.
“Your hilarious.” I stressfully stated, and slapped the dough again. I was beyond angry at the shit. He rolled his in return, and walked behind me. “Relax, it’s actually pretty easy.” He commented, sliding his hands down my arms and gripping the back of my hands softly. I breathed at the touch, and watched his hands move mine to create the dough.
He finally chuckled lightly, and shook his head. I stepped aside and watched him press it into the pan. To be honest he was skilled with his fingers. I mentally scolded myself for thinking that.
“I didn’t know you cook.” I leaned against the counter and watched. He was a natural. Josh just shrugged, and dumped some cherry mix I had made into it, then topping it with more dough. “I can do a lot of things. I’ve always enjoyed cooking, and to be honest I hated my mom’s food so I just started cooking myself.”
I giggled. “God, I really need to start teaching you things, Janet. You suck at cooking, and fighting- what a catch.” He joked, and I rolled my eyes.
“Hey- I can cook. Macaroni and cheese is great.” He casually blinked, and cut the top of the pie before pushing it into the oven.
“I bet.” He mocked.
“Your really annoying.” I grumbled, crossing my arms over my chest. “Sure.” He muttered back, giving me a quick kiss on the cheek.
“Now, since the foods cooking- it’ll be ready in about an hour and a half. We can do -” he smirked.
My stomach churned slightly. I was getting nervous. “Yeah, let’s just get it over with.” I kissed him back lightly.
“You say it like it’s a bad thing, but it’s really not that bad.” He kissed me again, and I hesitated to kiss him back.
“I hope so,”
“I’m not pressuring you…am I?”
“No, I’m just…nervous.” I sighed. He squeezed my hand softly, and I let out a deep breath. I didn’t realize I wasn’t breathing.
I found myself pressed underneath Josh’s weight completely naked. His lips lingered against mine, as I shakily breathed. “If I’m going too fast or anything please tell me.”
He lined himself up to me, and I squeezed my eyes shut as he slowly pushed himself inside of me. Pain shot up my body, and I stilled a painful cry. His lips lightly brushed away the few tears slipping from my eyes.
As much as it hurt, I found a pain amongst the pleasure. As foreign as this felt, I wanted more. I was happy Josh and I could share this, and not with anyone else.
“Your beautiful,” he muttered, and his lips kissed almost every part of my body. My toes curled at the pain, and my eyes were squeezed shut.
I reached my arms up, and scraped my fingers along his back. The pain was wearing off, and I felt my stomach clench.
His thrusts got faster, and his lips finally met mine again. I couldn’t help but smile at him. I moaned aloud, he smirked.
“That sounds nice.” He commented. He was hovering over me, and it was hard to meet his gaze since his body kept moving.
I guess he was nervous, considering my circumstances. I shifted uncomfortably, and his thrusts started to slow. “Josh I-” I whispered. “I know” he muttered, and I felt my legs shake. I felt myself release, and moments later Josh pulled out, releasing on the sheets.
I breathed out, coming down from my high. I ran my fingers over my face and smiled to myself. Josh laced his hand with mine and pulled me closer.
“Did I hurt you?” He asked in just above a whisper. I shook my head no. “I mean, I was a virgin, so it did hurt at first…but then it got better.” He grinned, and pressed his lips to mine.
“It gets better over time, and next time it’ll last longer.” He said. I kissed him lightly, and snuggled my head against him. I wish I could go to sleep, but we had to go eat dinner.
“Come on before they go and look for us.” He grinned. There was a silence, and I finally rolled out of bed. I threw on a pair of shorts and one of my new band t-shirts from some mall.
My hair was pulled into a messy bun.
“Honey, look at least civil. Not like you just had sex.” He smirked, and propped himself up on his arm staring at me. I chewed on the inside of my lip and yanked down a pair of ripped skinny jeans, and pulled over a pink hoodie.
“You two,” Marianna started, but her husband shot her a glare, she grinned, “are just in time, we were about to eat without you.” The table was set up with four, and roses decorated as the center piece. It felt like I was double dating with his parents. We never actually talked as much, since I’m always so shy.
She filled our plates with chicken, and some five minute broccoli and cheese rice. We ate in a long silence for awhile, before Marianna spoke up. “So…Janet, have you and Josh thought about kids?” I nearly choked on my food. Was she serious? Josh growled, before muttering a soft ‘mom.’ She shrugged casually, “I’m fourty five, I need another grand baby, I mean I had four kid-“
“Three mom, three kids.” Josh corrected. He looked a little angry, and she slowly nodded. “Excuse me, three kids.” She shook her head.
