— Lilian’s POV —
I went out of the pack house, stripped behind a tree, shifted and ran.
I was really happy that Brad found his mate and I hope everything works well for them. I found a pond and I decided to rest.
While I was resting, the same question kept popping into my head, “Why can’t our mate be like that?”7
I whimpered silently and suddenly I heard a branch snap.
Snap!
I got on all fours and got to my defense position. I saw a black wolf with grey at the tips of its tail appear from behind the trees. It looked huge and I guessed it was an Alpha. I was about to bow my head for respect when I caught his scent.
I quickly got my head up and growled. He looked amused to see me. Why? I have no bloody idea.17
He went behind a tree and shifted. All he had on was a pair of basketball shorts. I tried like literally TRIED not to check him out. But he must’ve knew what I thought cause he said to me with a smirk, “Like what you see babe?”22
I just rolled my eyes and turn my back on him. Big mistake. Why you lot are asking? Well that’s because he growled and shifted back to his wolf and tried to pounce me but my dad who taught me well, taught me how to dodge an attack when I wasn’t looking. He even taught me to feel my surroundings. When you felt something coming towards you dodge it.
I did just that and turned back to him with a smirk. Then I went to my right and ran. He quickly caught up to me and smirked. I smirked back and ran. I wasn’t called the fastest runner for no reason you know.48
He was right behind me now. Suddenly I had an idea. I blocked me and Abbott’s mind-linked so that he couldn’t read my mind. I ran towards a tree. When I was a few centimeters away, I turned to the left. Do you know what happened to Abbott?11
I was laughing so hard that I had tears falling in my eyes. But a wolf’s laughter is kinda weird. I was laughing cause Abbott ran right into the tree! I just totally kicked his ass!122
He growled at me and pounced me. I was on my back and he put his two front paws on my shoulders. I was so busy smirking that I didn’t notice him licking my cheek.46
I was shocked. I quickly got out from underneath him and ran to my home. I still felt the sparks running through my cheek and I wondered to myself,1
Why did he lick my cheek when he rejected me?38
— Abbott’s POV —
I was just wandering around the woods when my mates scent hit me and I thought to myself while smirking, “Time to put my plan into action.” My wolf growled at me and shook his head. I just ignored him and went to find my precious mate.
After our game of ‘chase’ and licking her cheek, I shifted back and thought while smirking,4
“Step 1 complete. Now time for step 2.”
