“What are you doing here!?” I tried to growl but it came out as a gasp. Since pain was scorching through my whole body. She then slowly made her way towards the bars of my cell, “I’m here to help you,” she said as she squatted down to my level. Confusion and doubt filled my body, Audrey was a liar and betrayer. She once told me she would always be there for me and we will always be best friends but then I ended up in the dirt and humiliated just because of a promise that was nothing but a pretty lie.
I snorted and said “Help me? Stop lying and get to the point– torture me! Say words to me that can pierce my heart! You’re good at that anyways,” She sighed then said “Yes Vivian, I may have hurt you in the past emotionally and physically but that doesn’t mean I want you dead,” “I’m sorry Audrey but you were 2 years late,” I said as I ignore her eyes that were trying to make contact with mine. “Vivian, I am truly sorry just let me help you,” she said. “Audrey… I don’t want your help!” I hissed “But you need my help, if you don’t want to be friends with me again– fine! But at least try to stop the war that is about to happen!” she said as she stood up. “What war?” I asked. “Donald declared war over the Elite pack,” she said.
“Stupid Donald, he declared war when he can just do the sneak attack,” I said, Audrey growled as I called her mate Stupid. “What do you see in him anyways?” I asked. “Yes, Donald is a douche and a jerk but he is mate. I didn’t choose him Vivian! And I hate the fact that me and him are mates,” she said while folding her arms. “So what if there is war, our pack will lose anyway,” I said as I rolled my eyes. Elite pack was the strongest pack in America. You can’t beat that.
“Yes we would lose if it isn’t for you Vivian! You’re weak, your mate is Frank! If you are weak then so is he, that’s what Donald planned he plans to make you so weak so when the battle starts Frank will be weak and Donald will get the chance to kill him,” she said making me tense. She sighed and said “Vivian you are his weakness, you are the moon lady! You have to stop this!” I pondered on her words just by the image of Frank being killed by Donald made me angry and sad at the same time. Then unexpectedly I had this strength inside me, I then slowly pushed myself off the ground letting out a few grunts and groans. I stood up straight even though my legs felt wobbly and I could fall any moment but my mate needed me. In times when I was in danger he was always there. I was Frank’s only hope and he’s all I got. What’s stopping me from saving him?
A smile appeared on Audrey’s face and she said “Great! Now we have to get you out of there,” Then my face dropped, I then lashed out on her “You came here to encourage me but you have no idea how to get me out of here!?” she smiled sheepishly and shrugged her shoulders. I rolled my eyes until I heard coughing from my father’s cell. “Leave… *coughs* Leave it to me,” he said as he slowly got up. Obviously weak from the beating. “But how…” I trailed off as I saw my father grabbed one bar in each hand. Me and Audrey watched intently. He started pulling two bars apart, at first nothing happened but after a few seconds the two bars started to part. Making my father shout as he successfully pulled them apart allowing his body to pass through the cell.
My father took a few small breaths then he went to my cell bars and started doing the same. Once he opened them apart I threw my arms around his body tears soaking into his dirty bloody shirt. His arms around me soothing my head. “You’re gonna be alright Vivian,” he said as he pulled away and cupped my face “You can do this, you are our only hope,” as he smiled. “I love you dad,” I said “I love you too.”
“Guys, We need to go the war is already starting!” Audrey said, “You guys go ahead while I break Gabriella and Apollo out,” my father said as he pushed me and Audrey towards the door. “Dad!” I called out, “We will catch up,” he said, Audrey then grabbed my hand we started running.
Who would have known I would save our lives with the person who I hated the most.
Frank’s POV
I stood proud and brave in front of my pack on a small hill of an open field as me and my pack waited for the enemy to arrive. I was in my wolf form for a few minutes I felt weak but now I am back but how long am I able to be strong when I have no clue where is Vivian and what happened to her?
One of my scouts came back and said through our mind link ‘Alpha, They are fastly approaching’ I nodded towards him as he went back into position. I soon saw Donald’s wolf standing too proudly in front of his pack, With a spike collar on, I heard a few stifled laughs behind, I even stifled a laugh. He looked like a dog, but then Donald barked furiously making my battle face resurface again. He’ll see what happens when he messes with my pack and especially my mate but most of all I am fighting for the goodness in the Moonlight’s pack. There are some good people and Donald doesn’t deserve and doesn’t have the right to be Alpha. He was only an Alpha by papers, not by blood.
Suddenly Donald howled signaling his members to attack, they all started barking and running. While me and my pack stood still, all of them aware and alarmed. ‘Remember do not kill anyone, injure them but don’t kill them. They are only following orders.’ I reminded the whole pack. They all replied through our mind links then I barked telling them to attack. Without making sounds my pack then bolted into a sprint charging towards the enemy’s pack. Donald stood alone and so did I, Donald then crouch in a attacking position and then bolted towards me. I just stood there waiting for the enraged wolf to come near me.
Right as he was in the middle of the field I sent a mind link to Vivian hoping she would at least here me. ‘Vivian, Be safe. I love you.’ I closed my eyes just hearing the growls and feet of other wolves and right as Donald was gonna lunged at me I rolled to the side making him hit the ground hard. My pack and Donald’s pack was now wrestling. I just hope I could badly injure Donald enough for his pack to stop attacking mine before any of my pack members get killed. Mine and Donald’s wolf then collided together, Donald tried snapping my neck but I was too fast and too strong for him to pin down.
Vivian’s POV
Audrey and me were now running with our wolf forms, we could hear from the distance the war. but we were still a bit far from it. ‘Audrey… why do you want to help me?’ I asked her since it was really bothering my mind why my former best friend who betrayed me was right beside me trying to save the day. ‘Donald is my mate, yeah I love him! But I don’t call him my Alpha. His plans are wicked. This isn’t how a pack should be. He wasn’t suppose to hunt you and Frank down but because of the Alpha power getting to him he thinks he owns everyone.’ she said as her wolf eyes kept looking at me.
I didn’t reply or react to her reason but then she stopped dead in her tracks. ‘Something wrong?’ her wolf head looked down but then looked back up to me. ‘Vivian…. I’m really sorry… sorry for everything especially about what happened 2 years ago. I knew Donald was gonna be my mate and he knew also, I felt bad because I knew you loved Donald that time and I guess I was too young and too new to this whole mate thing that it overwhelmed me and since you liked Donald I saw you as a threat.’ she said as her wolf whimpered and her paw covered her nuzzle.
‘Audrey… you were my best friend. You could’ve have just told me. I would have understand but that’s in the past. You can’t change it but…. I forgive you. After all you were always my one and only best friend.’ I said as I made my way towards her and we both nuzzle together, hugging.
‘Awww… isn’t that sweet! They are best friends again! Audrey, I thought we were best friends?’ a voice came behind us. Both our heads snapped towards the voice then we saw a dark brown wolf, Nikki. ‘You were never my best friend!’ Audrey growled while barring her teeth. ‘Ooh! Was that suppose to hurt?’ Nikki asked sarcastically. ‘Go to Frank, Vivian! I’ll deal with her,’ Audrey growled but I looked a Audrey with a concern look. ‘I can’t leave you Audrey, You might get hurt we both can take her down!’ I said ‘It only takes one wolf to take down a person who is only half wolf. Besides, Frank needs you.’ she stated. She had a point. I saw the hurt expression on Nikki’s wolf but it didn’t do anything to me.
‘Ok! Take care Audrey!’ I said as I ran off. Nikki tried pinning me down but Audrey took her down without any effort. My heart was beating fast, worried sick for Frank. I then heard a mind link ‘Vivian, Stay safe! I love you,’ only one name came inside my head as I heard the voice in my head,
Frank.
Frank’s POV
Donald had a few bite marks while I only had two. ‘Give it up, you won’t win.’ Donald hissed I just growled in reply and as Donald was about to lunged at me again, another wolf came up behind me pinning Donald down on the ground. ‘JANE!’ I shouted as I saw her wolf clawing at Donald. ‘Don’t worry Alpha! I am here to help.’ her chirpy voice rang through my head. ‘Help the others then! Don’t charge at Donald you’ll get hurt!’ I shouted at her in my Alpha voice, ‘I can take care of it Alp–‘ but she was cut off as Donald threw her violently against a tree and as her wolf body hit the ground, her body didn’t move.
I heard Donald laugh and it only made me angry. It brought the animal out of me. I then lunged towards Donald clawing, biting at him doing anything that can cause major damage. I was beyond furious now. Some of my pack members howled as they saw Amelia lay on the ground lifeless but she wasn’t dead since I could hear a faint heart beat but still she was now fighting for her life and I won’t take another wolf taking someone who I care about from me. They took away my parents, my sister and Amelia’s parents. So I won’t allow any wolf to take away Amelia or any of my pack members especially Vivian.
But right as I was lost in thought of how many people I’ve lost against a wolf, Donald surprised me by hitting his head right into my stomach knocking all the air out of my lungs. I landed on the ground, dizzy. I looked around me and I only saw battle, my members were bloodied and tired. My heart reached out to everyone of them but as I looked at the shadow that was looming over me I saw the evil glint in Donald’s eyes. Right as he was about to bite me a picture of Vivian appeared in my head.
I loved her. Not only because of the bond that binds us together but because she was real, she was proud of who she was even though she is timid and quiet. She gets bullied a lot and is wrapped up in her own guilt and grief, something that she can’t escape but her laugh, her smile, her eyes were the last thing I thought about before I felt Donald’s teeth sink into my neck but right before he could tear my skin or meat off someone pushed him hard and away from me.
Donald collided with another wolf making them dizzy, as I focused on the wolf that saved my life the light from the sun blocked my view but a voice rang through my head ‘Franklin!’ my full name used to make me sick and make me flinch but at the moment as her voice rang through my head saying my name. It was all I needed to hear as I laid on the ground. I then caught a glimpse of white fur and hazel eyes.
Vivian, My Vivian.
‘Franklin, Are you alright?’ she asked me as she licked my cheek, I then finally had the strength to stand up and look at my mate. ‘I’m fine, how about you?’ I asked frantically. She barked out of happiness and licked my face all over. I did the same but our moment was ruined by none other than Donald himself.
Vivian’s POV
‘Vivian! I am your Alpha! You’re suppose to be fighting by my side!’ Donald growled in my head making me flinch due to the little pain that surged through my head as he shouted. ‘You were never my Alpha! How could I follow an Alpha who only cares about himself rather than what’s good for his pack!’ I hissed, but then he shouted again ‘I demand you to be by my side and fight against this creature! I am your Alpha you are suppose to do what I say!!’ but I just growled in reply hoping he was smart enough to understand my answer.
but then he said something that made me snap ‘Fight with me or I shall kill your precious Frank here!’ I growled then let out a bark but I can see that behind the furry look of Donald he was smirking that he got to me but this was different. I felt different, I felt powerful.
‘NO!’ I shouted, but the weird thing was when I shouted not only did Donald’s smile faded but everybody who was in battle stopped. That’s when I noticed that the sun disappeared at it was replaced with a dark cloud and rumbles of thunder. The wind speed picked up its pace, Donald tried to move but his paws were stuck on the ground then as I howled the moon shined bright up in the sky and I heard my mother’s voice.
‘Moon lady.’
Frank’s POV
When the sky turned grey and the moon started peeking its way out, I was very confused but when I saw what was happening to Vivian, I remembered one of the old tales about a Moon lady. Was Vivian the Moon lady?
Suddenly Vivian’s beautiful hazel eyes turned all white, scary pure white. It scared me of what might happen to Vivian will she be able to wield the Moon lady’s power or will she fall? that’s when Vivian’s head snapped towards Donald and I could tell that Donald was frightened. ‘You shall pay’ Vivian said as her voice boomed through out the whole place. Even the battle of two packs stopped.
Vivian was the key to peace.
But when Vivian bolted into a run towards Donald they both collided as the thunder rumbled through the sky. I tried to help Vivian but every time I tried a lightning bolt would appear right in front of me keeping me away from them. ‘Vivian! Let me help you!’ I shouted but she didn’t answer. All I could hear was the whimpers and growls of Donald and Vivian. My heart reached out towards Vivian, I didn’t want her to face anything alone. I wanted her beside me where I know she is safe. Soon the fight of Vivian and Donald ended up near a cliff. My heart was beating crazily against my rib cage.
As I took a step towards them and found out that Vivian quit with the lightning bolts I then made my way towards Donald grabbing him with my teeth by his neck and threw him against the tree hard like what he did to Amelia, knocking him out cold. I then looked at Vivian and saw that her eyes were back to normal, her breathing was heavy and I licked her to comfort her. ‘I love you Vivian.’ ‘I lov–‘ but she was cut off.
‘Vivian!’ me and Vivian turned our heads to see on top of the hill, it was Nikki but what made my eyes widen in horror is that her nuzzle was bloody, she was carrying a human head without a body. The human’s blonde hair caught up in Nikki’s teeth and blood dripping everywhere but as I turned to look at Vivian she was no longer in her wolf form, she was in her human form, naked.
“CHLOE!!!!” she shouted, tears stained her face and they were still rolling down her face. I saw the pain and agony right through her eyes, I could feel it since our bond was now stronger than ever and what I felt was heart wrenching. Nikki dropped the head making it roll down the hill. I saw the lifeless blue eyes of the girl name Audrey. I then turned back to see Vivian who now had an angry face, she growled then shifted back to her wolf form.
Vivian and Nikki then bolted towards each other clashing together like fire and ice, them both not stopping till the other dies I was about to go and help but I couldn’t move it was like my feet were stuck to the ground. I then saw Gabie appeared right beside me along with Antonio in his wolf form right beside her, “She needs to fight this alone,” Gabie said, I watched in horror as Nikki and Vivian fought and in the end one of them are gonna end up dead. I just hope it wasn’t Vivian.
As soon as Nikki threw Vivian to the ground she was about to attack Vivian until Nikki’s eyes connected with Gabie and me. The hate that was shown through her eyes were and are her true colors. Vivian laid on the ground out of breath but right as Nikki was gonna run towards us, Vivian lunged at Nikki making my heart do two beats at once then the worst happen both of them…
fell off the cliff.
