“So about that surprise?”
“I’m still not telling you.”Kyle says, with a small smirk. I groan as he wraps his arms around me and places his chin on my head.”Babe, if I tell you it will ruin the surprise.”
“Okay. Okay. I’ll stop asking.”I give up with a small pout. He kisses the top of my head.
Edwin who is sitting in front of us, scrunched his face up when he saw Kyle kiss me. I giggle at bit and pull out of Kyle’s grip to sit next to Edwin and Sofia.
“Hey little man what are you building?”Kyle sits down in front of Edwin, who is too busy piling blocks on top of each other.
“A big, big house.”Edwin says, not looking at Kyle. I pick Sofia up and place her on my lap. She turns around and snuggles to my chest. I rub her back softly.
“Why do you want to build a house?”Kyle asks. Edwin stops and turns to him.
“It is our house cause its so big.”Edwin slightly stumbles with his words.”Daddy, why is our house so big?”
Kyle scratches the back of his neck and let’s out a chuckle.
“Yeah why, daddy?”I tease and he winks at me.
“It is big because other people live here too.”Kyle replies as Edwin stares at him in confusion.
“Why do they live here?”
Kyle looks at me as if asking if it was okay to tell Edwin and Sofia about wolves. I nod, they need to know.
“Because this is a pack.”
“What’s a pack?”
“A pack is a large group of wolves who living together. In every pack there is a leader called an Alpha who is usually a boy and the Alpha has a mate. She becomes a Luna who is the other leader.”He stops and glances at me with a smirk. Edwin nods and continues to listen to Kyle.”I am the Alpha and Mommy is the Luna.”
Edwin furrows his eyebrows and nods.I decide to help Kyle out.”Honey, your daddy can turn into a wolf and he is the leader of the people who live here.”He nods, understanding.
I feel Sofia shift and look down at her to see that she is already looking up at me.”What are we?”
“You are both half human and half wolf. Most likely Edwin will take my gene and become a wolf but I don’t know about you, baby girl.”Kyle says. I swear Sofia is a daddy’s girl. Her little head bobs up and down with a frown placed on her lips.
“I wanna be like Logy.”She states, her bottom lip quivering. All the color from Kyle’s face drains and he looks at me for help.
“I thought you wanted to be like Mommy.”I say with a pretend sad face. Her brown eyes widen and she nods.
“I do.”
“Well, Mommy isn’t like Logy and daddy.”
Sofia turns to her dad.”I don’t want to be like you anymore. I wanna be like mommy.”She wraps her arms around me and snuggles go my chest. I smile smugly at Kyle who just sticks his tongue out.
“I wanna be like daddy.”Edwin stood on his two feet and hugged Kyle’s neck. It’s funny how Edwin didn’t like Kyle in the beginning.
Kyle laughed and picked Edwin up, putting him on his lap. I stared at them in awe.”Why are you looking at us like that?”
“You’re a great father, Kyle.”
After our little bonding time, we gave the kids to Kyle’s mother who offered to watch them as we go on our date. Kyle left our room as I got ready for our date.
I took a shower and laid out my outfit. He took me to dress causal yet a bit fancy. I decided on wear a pink flowy dress that had thin straps. I paired it was some peach flats.
I curled my hair and put it half up half down with a cream bow placed in the middle. Then I did my makeup, keeping it simple. I took a deep breath as I was finished. I walked downstairs, griping on the railing. People who passed me going up the stairs stared at me with adoration and I just gave them a small smile. As I reached the bottom of the stairs, I saw Kyle with a wide smile.
“You look beautiful, Madeline.”He breath out, making my cheeks turn pink. I looked over his attire and smiled. He wore dark blue jeans with a black button down shirt.
“Thank you. You look handsome.”I complimented and he winked at me. I stepped down the few stairs and he loops his arm around mine.
“Ready, m’lady?”
“Always.”
—
“Where are we, Kyle?”I asked as he carried me. He put a blindfold over my eyes for our date.
“You trust me right?”He asked.
“With my life.”
“Well just trust me on this. You’re gonna love it.”He whispered into my ear. I leaned into his chest, relaxing my body and listening to around me.”We’re here.”
I felt him put me down and pull the blindfold off. My feet meet with sand. I took in my surroundings and smiled. He had set up a little picnic on the beach.
“It beautiful, Kyle.”I smiled brightly at him. His smile grew as I placed a kiss on his lips.”This is amazing. How do you-“
“I had help from my mom. She made the food because I’m not good at that.”He said, shyly. He grabbed my hand and led me over to the blanket.”I told you, you would love this.”
“Thank you.”I said, feeling to cry. He is perfect. We ate and talked for hours. He made me laugh all night long. Everything is perfect. The only thing missing is the twins.
He turned to me and stood up, pulling my hand making me stand up too. He looked at me seriously.”Madeline, I love you more than anything in the world besides our children. I’m glad you were the one for me. I don’t know what I would do without you. I could never continue my life without you. When you left, I was so guilty and I hated myself for making you leave. Those past years felt empty without you. I had a piece of me teared out of my heart. Now that your back, I never want to go through that again. I want to be with you for the rest on my life.”
I gave him a puzzled look and he smiled, weakly. He got down on his knee and my heart skipped a beat.”Madeline Longfellow, will you marry me?”
I felt my eyes well up and a tear dropped onto my cheek.”Yes!”He smiled and picked me up, swinging me around. He put me down and slipped the diamond ring on my finger. I looked up at him to see a wide smile on his handsome face.”I love you.”
“I love you too, baby.”
We stayed in each other’s embrace for a while until it was time for us to leave. He held my hand as we walked to the car. I climbed into the car and rubbed my eyes, yawning. Kyle looked at me.”Go to sleep, love. I’ll wake you up when we get home.”
I nodded, giving him a sleepy smile. I laid back into the leather seat and looked out the window, my eyes slowly closing. I felt Kyle grab my hand and I relaxed, finally going to sleep.
