“Ash, can you tell me about this gathering?”I asked, my eyes closed as the girls started doing my makeup and my hair.
“It’s the Blood Moon gathering. Pack Alphas along with their Betas from all over the country come and celebrate. The Blood Moon makes us wolves stronger.”I heard her say. She paused and then continued.”I heard it is going to be held in a mansion deep in the forest. The ceiling with be all glass so that we can see the moon as it transitions.”
I nodded and the opened my eyes, sawing at her blonde hair.”You’re going too?”
“Of course.”She smiled and winked at me.”I have to. I am the Beta’s mate after all.”
Realization struck me and I let out a long ohh. That’s probably the reason why she also has to watch me or shall I say babysit me.”I didn’t know.”
After a while, they were finished and I was told that the dress along with the shoes would be on the bed. I stood up from the chair and walked over to the bed. I dropped my rob and stared at the dress in awe. It was gorgeous. I looked at the back of it and realized that I wouldn’t be wearing a bra for this dress.
The dress was black and the back was a very low cut. Certain parts of the dress was shear so you could see my skin. It reached down to the floor. I slipped on the dress and ran my hand over the fabric. Smooth. I then put on the pair of black heels.
There was a knock on the door and my breath hitched. Please, do not be Lorin.”Madeline?”
“Yes.”I was glad that it was Ash and not Lorin. He would’ve pulled something on me.
She opened the door and gaped at me.”You look gorgeous.”She wore a little pink dress.
“So do you.”I stood up straight an took a look at her.
She grinned but it turned into a frown.”Alpha Lorin wants us to leave now.”
“Okay.”I calmed myself and we walked down the stairs together. Lorin and Ash’s mate were standing at the bottom of the stairs. Lorin had an impatient look on his face. He looked up just as I was in the last step and grinned.
He walked over to me and gripped my waist pulling me close to him. He leaned into my ear.”You look stunning. I have a surprise for you after the gathering.”
My gulp was visible as I looked at Ash. She gave me a sad look which went unnoticed by Lorin.
“Okay. It’s time to leave.”He announced and the couple looked at him, nodding. His hands stayed on my waist and he directed me to the limousine in the front of the house. We climbed in the car and sat on the other side of the limo. Ash and her mate, Derek sat in front of us. Lorin didn’t release me at all.

“Wow.”I said in awe as I looked at the glass ceiling of the room. Ash looked up with wide eyes.
“I know right.”She looked at the place in awe.”It’s beautiful.”
The moon shone bright, it lit up the room along with a bunch of candles. The atmosphere in the room was calm. Everyone acted as if they’ve know each other for years.
“Madeline.”Lorin called out, walking over to me.”I am going to talk to a few Alpha’s from other packs.”
I nodded and he pulled me close to him, leaning down to my ear. He whispered, harshly.”Don’t try anything or you’ll regret it.”
He pulled away before sending me a wink and walking off. My breathing got heavy and I sighed, taking deep.
“You look like you need a drink. Follow me.”She walked in front of me and I followed her. She lend me to a drinks table and grabbed a bottle of water, handing it to me. I gulped half of it down. The cold water soothing my throat and calming my breathing.
“Thanks. I need that.”I smiled at her and held the half full bottle of water.
“Madeline.”I heard my name being called from behind me. I turned around and my breath hitches.
“Brant.”I grinned and pulled him into a hug. We pulled away and he looked at me with his hands on my shoulder.
“Where’s Kyle?”He asked and looked around.”Normally, he won’t leave you alone for a second.”
“Um, I’m not here with Kyle.”I whispered and turned around so my back was facing him.”I need to talk to you in private. I’ll meet you by the bathrooms.”
“Okay. Five minutes.”He says and walks off. I wait a minute or two before turning to Ash.
“I have to go to the bathroom. I’ll be right back.”I tell her and she bids me goodbye as I walk to the bathrooms. I am pulled into a handicap bathroom and sigh when I see Brant.
“What happened, Madeline?”
“Alpha Lorin kidnapped me. I met him before and he’s done this before but Kyle came to rescue me. This time he didn’t. Why isn’t he here I thought all Alpha’s came to this?”I asked, breathing out with a frown. His eyes widen and he held my hand.
“Mainly Alphas in the south come to this gathering.”He tells and runs a tongue over his bottom lip. Brant has this look that you just know he’s thinking of a plan. You could imagine the gears turning in his head.”I’ll contact Kyle and tell him about your whereabouts. I think I have a plan instead of that. I could sneak you out. If everything goes on time, I could get you out and we could head to your pack.”
“But how do I know that’s not going to stop Lorin?”I asked, hopelessly. He releases my hand and paces around with his hand rubbing his chin.
“We tell the council and this might take away his right to be an Alpha. He could stop or he’ll drop from his Alpha position.”
“Okay, what’s the plan?”
He smirks and begins explaining the plan to me. I nod, understanding and smirk at the plan.”This might just work.”
