“Now this is what I like to see” she smirked
Her eyes narrowed towards the employees in the office, 60% females, 20% non binary and 20% male, only the ones that she actually found interested in this job.
“There’s going to be alot of changes around here” I said
Their eyes met mine before glancing around between each other
“You’re all here because I see something in you, sure you’re young but that’s where the passion is. In the young. Gone are those days where 50 year old men would tower over you and make you feel like you don’t belong here. Like your passion is weak and you won’t fit in. Now’s the time for a change and that starts with all of you m” Luna said sternly
“Um.. May I ask something?” A brown skin women asked?
“Ofcourse” The brown hair girl smiled sweetly
“Is. Is Mason really gone?” she mumbled
“Gone like the wind” Luna chuckled and brought her hands down, running her fingers through Buddy’s hair
Suddenly, everyone in the board room let out a sigh of relief, a smile appeared on their faces as they sunk their back into their seats
“I take it you’re not a fan of him” Luna chuckled
“Fan!?” someone scoffed
“He’s been telling me for months that I have a fat ass” A short woman glared
“Have you not reported him?” the demon asked
“I did, but everyone higher than us are his best friends, they don’t care. Someone said suck it up and let a man take what he wants” the woman mumbled
Luna’s fist flinched tightly and she grinded her teeth against each other, her dark eyes glanced in the direction of the woman
“I can assure, you’ll be treated well from now on. Matter of fact, I’ll have Melanie arrange some stuff with you later”
“I remember he once brought Henessy into the workroom and tried to get everyone drunk”
“He told me I was too fat to get on the elevator”
“He asked me to pick his kids up from school everyday and make them breakfast” A raven hair man pouted
“And you did that?” Luna asked
“He’s… He’s my boss” The boy mumbled
“Well. I’m your boss now, you answer to me, my sister or Melanie. Got it?’ Luna asked
“Got it” they said in unison
“Since that’s out of the way, Let’s get started it” Luna smiled

The meeting went on for around three hours, constant arrangements back and forth to seek out the information she needed. Luna had a white board to write a few comments and names of clients before assigning cases.
“Everyone okay after that?” Luna chuckled as she glanced around the room to her employees
“God I loved that” Someone laughed
“This… This is what I always wanted. Not to be running around buying coffee everyday, this meeting today just reminded me exactly why I wanted to be a lawyer in the first place” Another perosn smiled
“Anyone hungry?” Luna asked as she motioned for Melanie to join her side
“I.. Are you sure Ms Amon?” someone questioned
“Ofcourse, we’ve been in a meeting all day, we need to eat don’t we?” Luna smiled
“True that”
“Anyone has any requests?” she asked
“We could order what we want!?” someone gasped
“Ofcourse, just tell Melanie. She’ll come to you” Luna smiled as Melanie made her way to everyone, taking down their orders
“Ms Amon, can I ask you something?” Someone mumbled
“I’m all ears” The half demon smiled
“Are…Aren’t you with Cytheria Jones?” They asked
A smile immediately stretched across Luna’s face as she sunk her back into the seat, feeling buddy brush against her arm
“Yes, I am” She chuckled
“Holy sh- SORRY, I’m so sorry” The person’s eyes went wide, frightened to have said anything inappropriate in front of their boss
“That’s okay, we’re on lunch right now. You should relax and be yourself, in this moment we don’t have to be strict and professional” Luna chuckled
“…. Then can we ask some more questions?”
“I.. Go ahead sure” Luna smiled and pushing her hand into her pocket, sliding out her phone
“How’d you two meet?” a dark skinned man asked
“High school actually” Luna smiled
“Awwwww highschool sweethearts” the man grinned
“Line upp, they’re tryna waste my timee” Luna sang
“High school sweethearts, shut up if you’re not my typeee” Everyone in the room sang along
“Was it love at first sight?”
“It.. It actually was, I was dumbfounded by her beauty, sure but then I was introduced to her personality. It didn’t go to plan but I refused to give up until I found out who she really was inside”
“That’s adorable” Someone chuckled
“How does it feel to date a singer, especially one that’s so popular?”
“It doesn’t feel that much different than when we met. We were accustomed to getting that popular status in highschool, atleast she uses that status for the best. Plus she’s really talented, she deserves everything she’s made for herself” Luna smiled
“No offense ma’am, but wasn’t she with a guy? It was all so sudden how imagines of you and Cytheria started to appear right after the guy proposed. Alot of people are really confused on what happened” someone said
Her eyes glanced towards them and nodded, she understood where they were coming from but it’s not her business to reveal, nor was she involved with the decision making
“Cytheria and I have a.. Unique relationship. We parted ways for an unfortunate reason but our love that we had was never gone. We always had this instant connection, we have a passion unlike anything we’ve ever experienced before. She’s my rock that keeps me alive” she chuckled
Luna noticed a few smiles headed in her direction as they leaned over the table to listen closer
“When I had the chance to, I came right back to here. I didn’t know about her.. Relationship with that guy. Either way, their relationship wasn’t stable. I guess he assumed a marriage would have made it better but it didn’t. In the end, the heart comes back to where it truly needs to be” she mumbled
“That’s so sweet”
“Did you do something big to win her over?” someone chuckled
Her eyes went wide for a second before a laugh escaped her throat
“I…i actually did” Luna chuckled
“I knew ittt” they squealed
“Oh hushhh” she giggled
“Oh come on, the story’s just getting interesting. Did you rent out a bowling ally and had a picnic in there?” someone chuckled
“I… No but that’s actually cute” Luna chuckled
“Nooo, I think she did something cuter, maybe they went on a hike and kissed in the middle of a sunflower field” someone giggled
“Isn’t that from Academy of sins?” Luna laughed
“Oh my God, you read that book!?”
“Even better, I met the author and the sinners” I smiled
All eyes in the office went wide, including Buddy’s. I couldn’t help but laugh
“You met Alexis!?”
“Yes, my best friend introduced us and we all hung out afterwards. It was years ago” she smiled
“You have earned my respect, anyone that reads that book has officially made my not to kill list” Someone smirked
“I’m curious to know who’s on that list” Luna chuckled
“The man my crush ignores me for”
“I felt that spiritually” someone snickered
“Ms Amon, where are you from?”
“Hell” she answered
“I felt that spiritually too-” someone said
She couldn’t help but smile again, she was as happy that everyone seemed to get along and feel comfortable enough to open up. It’s the workplace she strived to build and she knew they were halfway there.
But her mind came back to someone who should never have the opportunity to be on her mind
“I have something else for you to do” she said, causing all heads to turn in her direction, they quickly flipped open their notebooks and clicked their pens, awaiting her order
In the corner of her eye, she saw Melanie walk back into the office with her hands behind her back, her blue eyes glanced into hers and Luna nodded, knowing where she had to go next
Her father’s company wasn’t just a law firm, he couldn’t care less for what happened here. The basement was where the prize possessions laid, somethings on earth that he couldn’t keep with him below
Her eyes stared into the lawyers around the oval shaped desk, their attention only focusing on hers
“I want you to find out everything there is to know about Richie Singh” she said in low voice
The lawyers all furrowed their brows and glanced at each other, confused as to why she would want to find information on her girlfriend’s ex
Melanie made her way over to Luna, standing behind her hair and holding her blazer
“I don’t want anyone knowing about this. It has nothing to do with the company but I’m placing in trust into each of you. Nothing leaves this office, you don’t discuss it with each other, you don’t question it either. Just get as much information as you can from his past, I want receipts, birth certificates, names” she said sternly
Luna stood to her feet and allowed Melanie to slip the jacket onto her back, she quickly adjusted her watch tightly on her wrist and stuck her hands into her pocket, feeling the keys to the basement.
“Remember. Not a word about this” she mumbled as she gave them all a last glance
The lawyers nodded, writing down a few notes and avoiding eye contact with each other
Luna was more than sure there was something up with that guy, she just didn’t know enough about him. Something’s off about him and she needed to figure it out
There was such a rage in his eyes, the way he’d grip a woman, not caring if he was in public. He made them visibly uncomfortable yet no one spoke about it
He snaps at the slightest thing, the fire in his eyes and the rage he possesses leaves her to question
Did he ever put his hands on Cytheria?
