Chapter 107

Narrator’s pov

Mark’s nails dug into the side of Lucifer’s face, silver eyes bored into jet black ones as a fight of the supernatural went on.
Lucifer hissed when his back was slammed against the rocky concrete wall, a sharp broken edge of the wall sinking into his skin, dangerously close to his spine. It was a war that resembled tigers
Their nails scratching deep into flesh. In that frozen second between stand off and fighting, their eyes flick from silver to black. Mark’s face was unreadable, no fear, no invitational smirk.
A sudden gush of pain jolted throughout Lucifer’s body. His stomach ached, his arms lost tension and his legs began to weaken.
His blood red wings wrapped around his body like a forcefield as Mark continued to push a demanding force of wind to his body, slowly pushing the devil backward into the concrete wall again where his back had collided.
His tongue was soaked in the taste of blood. Bruised and winded, with a back in agony, he grabbed the foot of the angel and pulled him to the ground. His head was pounding. He brought a fist to the angel’s face, snapping his nose into a grotesquerie.
Fawn on the other hand was shoved into the concrete wall behind her, the girl’s small frame hit the wall with such force they knocked the air out of her lungs and dashed her skull into the stone hard wall. A sharp pain ran through her body
The pain felt like silent grenades all setting off in her body, pounding at every inch of her internally. Where started with her head, the smashing of her skull into the stone wall made her lose her sight. Her eyes felt heavy as they slowly started to close, the dinging echoing through each area of her head. The slam to the wall had a hardcore hit on her skull
“For fuck sakes Fawn” Luna hissed when the girl fell to the floor, knowing if she took another step then she’d join her sister
Luna groaned and dashed towards her sister on the floor, her arms wrapped around the girl’s frame only to feel her unconscious body. Fawn’s arms felt like jello, her white wings were twisted in an angle that could only show that it was broken from the harsh impact
Her muscles felt as though they had been flash-burned with acid from the inside – just sufficient to make them move like the living cells have been replaced by aging rubber bands, thick and twisted.
Luna furrowed her brows when she felt liquid on her fingers, she pulled her hands back and saw the red liquid pouring from the side of Fawn’s head
It flowed out of her limp body and splattered onto the floor. It seemed into every corner of the room, what was once a cold and dark place was now covered by the gore of the red, flowing blood.
The anger was boiling within her, she couldn’t be afraid of the rage that is fire within her. Luna had never felt so much rage as when pushed into passivity against her will. Rage built like deep water currents.
The woman that stood before her, that was supposed to be her mother was driving her completely insane at this point. She wanted nothing more but to destroy and kill whatever breathes and leave their bodies to turn to ash so she could walk over it.
Luna’s fists clenched together as the blood of her sister dripped from her fingers, the adrenaline charging through her veins and her black and white wings aggressively fluttering as she rose to her feet
“She was your DAUGHTER” Luna hissed
“Oh please, she’s just useless now especially if she’s all friendly with you and… Wherever your pet humans call themselves” Medusa chuckled as she crossed her arms against her chest
The woman’s eyes glanced at Mark who had Lucifer’s body pinned on top of him, blood running down both of their flesh and filling the concrete floor
“Oh just look at him. He came all the way from heaven just to rescue me” Medusa chuckled “Such a shame I never loved him”
Luna’s eyes went wide when she heard what the woman had said
“Perhaps I’ll poison him in his sleep or something, right after I finally end you and your demon father” Medusa spat as her head slowly turned to face the brunette
Medusa’s arm reached out to strike at the girl, a white glow filled the palm of her hand before a striking bright bolt of energy charged at Luna’s head
With one swift move, Luna had dodged the shot but it was coming at her one after the other.
Her feet tossed into the air as she hovered from the ground, her large wings flapped in front of her and fed back the charges that were being shot her way
Medusa rolled her eyes when her shots were failing her, but the few seconds she took to breathe were the seconds she would regret
Luna’s hand reached out to the woman, holding what felt like an imaginary rope around the woman’s neck and pulling tight at the strings.
Medusa’s eyes went wide as she gripped her own throat, trying to pry the force away from her. The tightness in her throat started to swell even more, her lungs burned and her skin felt like the definition of head. Her eyes became glazed with a glassy layer of tears. As she blinked, they dripped from her eyelids and slid down her cheeks. She bit her lip tightly in attempt to hide any sound that wanted to escape from her mouth
But with all of that pain, the woman saw something in Luna’s eyes that made her smirk. Medusa’s smirk raised to her ear as she stared at her daughter. For she had noticed an engagement ring on the girl’s finger
“G-getting married h-huh? To that bl-blonde? You’re just f-fooling yourself” Medusa let out breathlessly
Luna’s brows furrowed at the woman, confused on how she could have known about her personal life with Cytheria. But her thoughts were cut off when she heard a deep scream from within the pit of Lucifer’s stomach
“Dad!” Luna yelled when her eyes glanced at the man
Satan was tackled to the floor, Mark’s glowing white hands were pressed against the man’s chest. There was an open slash in his abdomen, the pink flesh was covered by the thick red blood pouring from the opening in his chest.
The blood from Lucifer’s stomach didn’t gush in a constant flow, but in time with the beating of his heart. At first it came thick and strong, flowing through Mark’s fingers as the angel pressed his hand on the flesh, splitting Lucifer’s skin wider
The blood move over his hand, the thick fluid no warmer or cooler than his own skin. After a few moments more the blood was still leaving his rapidly paling flesh, but the pulses were slower, weaker.
“DAD” Luna yelled again
Her other hand had aimed directly towards Mark’s body, which caused her to drop all control she had over Medusa.
The woman dropped to the floor, clutching her throat where she felt the tightness the worse. The oxgyen burned to enter her lungs as she panted for breath
Luna almost scolded herself when she realized she had lost all control over the woman but Lucifer was bleeding out and Mark needed to be stopped before he turned the devil into ashes
Luna’s powers gripped the Angel’s body, slowly turning his own blood into what seemed like mush. Mark had lost all control of his own body and his hands fell away from Lucifer’s chest. Mark’s eyes rolled back in his head as his back bent backwards, his head tilted up to the ceiling as the blood in his body slowly turned solid
But with protecting her father, it meant that Medusa was free. The woman smirked as she found her way up to her feet, feeling the energy flow back into his body.
“You stubborn child” Medusa hissed
“You don’t have to do this!” Luna yelled
“But I want to. Nothing would make me happier than seeing you four turn to dust in this place. First Lucifer, then Fawn. Then Mark, the poor soul actually believed I wanted him. Frankly I don’t know whether to be insulted or impressed with the fact that I faked a love story. You see, I knew I’d need him one day. Mark is a healer angel, and there’s nothing better than having a healing angel by your side in case something goes wrong. But since I’m all put together, he’s useless to me. Just as you and your sister are” Medusa smirked
Luna paused trying to hold back the strange feelings rumbling inside her but she couldn’t. A lone tear traced down Luna’s cheek, and just like that, the floodgates opened.
So many tears burst forth like water from a dam, spilling down the girl’s face. She couldn’t understand why these things would happen to her, almost as if there was a curse placed in her bloodline to follow her for eternity, bringing nothing but pain and blood.
The only thing that brought her happiness was the blonde girl that wore a ring on her finger with the promise of bonding her life with Luna for eternity
Pain, it was written across the half demon’s face. For if she let go of her Mark, then he would kill her father. And the decision between her own life and the life of the man that raised her wasn’t even a decision.
For she’d always put anyone above her own life.
