Chapter 108

Narrator’s pov

Our hearts beat the sound of our mental state. When we’re trigger, it tends to move a bit faster. When we’re threatened, it runs wild.
But nothing could describe the pounding of Luna’s heart in this moment.
There wasn’t even a second left to make a decision on her own life, it was either let go and safe herself and let her father’s body be split into two or allow the woman to break her.
Medusa was running at her with full speed, legs moving fast as her eyes flickered silver, that smirk on her face had a different meaning.
Her arms reached out and a silver glow reached to her palm, aiming it directly at her daughter who hovered in mid air, trying her best to hold back Mark from ripping her unconscious father apart
When our mind knows there was nothing left, it might flash your history before it all ends.
So in that one second Luna had remaining, the image of Cytheria Jones’s warm smile was stained in her brain
Those soft giggles she’d let out when Luna said something dirty, that wide smile she’d release when she thought about what to surprise her fans with. That quirky eyebrow that would raise as she thought about ways to piss her girlfriend off. That glare she’d send to people who loved to tease her and that permanent red blush that was always stained on her cheek when she was embarrassed.
The thoughts of what could have been, flooded Luna’s mind. Perhaps a white wedding in the church, white petals to represent the purity which neither of them had.
The veil that would rest on Cytheria’s perfectly shaped face and the smile she’d show when Luna flipped it over.
There was so much more to their life together they needed to explore, they needed to experience together.
But just like five years ago, it was happening again. A sudden time in her life where she didn’t have the luxury of being prepared.
Going into a battle she didn’t want, a battle that would cost her, her life and ruin the chances of her future.
A time where she had failed the girl she loved and broke yet another promise.
A promise of forever and always.
And so with that, Medusa ran, her feet took control as she ran towards Luna. A fire in her eyes and murder on her mind. Her silver eyes glowing bright and a venomous smirk on her face, the woman held her hand and the powerful silver glow was on overflow
Luna’s eyes closed, not wanting to see the face of her mother that wanted her to turn into dust and ashes.
She didn’t want to give up, she wanted to fight to protect her girlfriend and everyone around her. But there was only so much she could do in one second.
Who knew what the future held for the blonde, or what would happen next. But she trusted Nathan well enough to take care of Cytheria.
To take care of the girl she failed to protect.
So with her closed eyelids and a pounding heart, one single tear left the rim of Luna’s eyes and ran down her soft cheek.
The white charge from Medusa’s hand finally pushed forward and aimed directly at Luna, piercing at her like a light but only a thousand times more powerful.
For this was it. The end of everything.
“OH FUCK NO YOU SLIMY PIECE OF SHIT”  A voice screamed through the room
Luna’s eyes flung wide open when she heard the woman scream in pain, her eyes flickered over to see Vernon’s claws sinking deep into Medusa’s skin
Vernon’s body flung into the woman with such speed, slamming her body into the wall to see cracks forming behind her back. Vernon’s fist collided with the woman’s face as her pitch black wings continued to push out a harsh amount of force that helped her pin Medusa into the wall.
Her fist was slamming into Medusa’s face while she sunk into her stomach. Blood pooled in Medusa’s mouth as she gagged.
“I. Don’t. Know. How. Many. Times. We. Have. Got. To. Fucking. Kill. This. BITCH” Vernon screamed between punches
As Luna glanced down, she noticed that Lucifer was stirring awake. Her grasp was still on Mark and made the man freeze, Lucifer coughed blood but still managed to control himself. His eyes locked with his daughter as he nodded.
Lucifer’s hands then gripped onto Mark’s body, wrapping tightly around his throat. Mark’s screamed in pain as Luna released her grasp on the man.
The pain was increasing in waves, small lulls giving false hope of an end. Each peak robbed Mark’s ability to speak, sent him crashing to the bare boards as Lucifer strangled his neck with every ounce of energy her had left. Lucifer’s piercing black eyes bored into Mark’s dying silver ones.
And to finish it all off, Luna’s eyes glanced at the broken piece of concrete wall, seeing the sharp area. A smirk pulled across Lucifer’s face as he glanced back at the man
“You know, I really liked you Mark. But no one. And I mean, no one. Messes with my family” Lucifer spat
With one swift move of Lucifer’s eyes, Mark’s body went flying backward into the sharp spike concrete of the wall.
Mark’s mind screamed out as the pain drove through his back, sinking deep into his flesh and reaching into his internal muscles, slicing at his intestines and grazing a few rib bones. Every thought he just had became confused as the burning pain licked up his back like scorching fire.
The mental and physical anger swiped through his throat as he released a dark scream from his throat, echoing throughout the entire room.
Mark’s silver eyes slowly faded along with the muscles on his face, The pain that once burned like fire had faded away to an icy numbness. Black filled the edges of his vision and the only thing he could hear was his own heartbeat.
His breath came in ragged, shallow gasps. Seconds passed as he was standing, impaled by the sharp concrete there.
But with one villain, came another. Vernon’s fist were caught by Medusa’s hands who managed to gain some energy back again. Vernon’s eyes widened when the woman gripped her wrists tightly, squeezing at the veins in her body.
Medusa smirked as she pulled the vampire into her chest, those silver eyes burning a permanent mark in her soul.
“A vampire. Really? Frankly I’m offended you even thought you had a chance” Medusa laughed
She surely did have a face of angel, her lips would break farther apart to reach ear length. There was something sinister on that woman’s mind and having Vernon in her grasp was dangerous.
The edge of her smirk was pushed up, scrunching her one eye up, making the silver eyes appear almost white. Her lips parted a few centimeter, making it appear more sinister. And then happened.
Medusa’s hands snapped Vernon’s wrists backward, there was a ripping, popping sound as the ligaments tear, and the quiet breaking of a stick as the bone bursts from Vernon’s wrist, exposing to the air and becoming visible outside the body.
The girl screamed, the type of scream that made the hair strand straight up on the back of Luna’s neck. It was the loudest most piercing scream she had ever heard. It sounded like a scream of wild panic. A scream of hysteria and disbelief, bordering on terror.
Vernon dropped to the ground, her face closed in a grimace, was skin pale and clammy. Every few seconds she would scream, not like one of those guys in some Tarantino movie being tortured, but worse. It had a raw quality, the realness of a person consumed by a pain that knew no end or limit.
Vernon had held her hand to the broken tear of her flesh where her boned popped out, but no matter the pressure she applied the blood had still gushed between her fingers and oozed under her hand. It had spread onto the cold concrete ground, filling into a pool as blood continued to gush.
“Vernon!” Luna screamed
To watch her bestfriend drop to the ground, bleeding out like a river was heartbreaking.
But the worse part was, she was left alone once again with the Woman.
Fawn was pressed into a corner, unconscious and bleeding. Lucifer’s chest was cut open and the blood gorged out his flesh, leaving him unconscious after using all of his strength to end Mark. And now, her saviour bestfriend was screaming in pain. They were all losing too much blood, Luna knew she had to act right now before everyone in that room died on her hands.
But that wasn’t going to happen. Not ever, especially from the fault of someone who should be burning away in a heap of fire.
The anger was boiling withing her, she couldn’t be afraid of the rage that is fire within her. Luna had never felt so much rage as when pushed into passivity against her will. Rage built like deep water currents.
That’s when her anger came, unleashed without thought of consequence. Even those that didn’t earn this wrath today earned it at some point.
For everything depended on this moment, every life around depended on how strong she was
Her eyes were jet black, the energy hoisted her body into the air. The energy was unstable, it vibrated everything around her, the girl’s body trembled as she moved inches and inches higher from the ground. The floor beneath her cracked slightly and the walls started to shake, it felt like a tornado was wrapping around the girl’s body. Her head tilted back as her lips parted, it felt like a heat erupted from within. The girl’s body levitated vertically, her chest pounded rapidly.
A sudden light came from her finger tips again, just like the first time she had unlocked her true self, a white glow trailed through every vein inside the girl’s body. The black glow in her eyes crawled along the corner of eye, it was like a black ink spill on her eyes. Luna’s jaw clenched as her eyes met the woman.
The stinging pain coursed through her skull as her dark thick horns grew. Her wings emerged from the slit from her back. The black feathers trembled as they adjusted to the temperature but quickly flapped as it stabled the girl in the air.
Medusa didn’t even gain a second to blink before she was attacked by Luna’s grip on her throat. Luna smirked as her hands strangled the woman, the veins in her fingers were visible. Medusa’s eyes rolled back in her head as her flesh turned a slight shade of purple, the tightness in her throat locked off the oxygen from entering. It burned. her throat burned painfully as it reached to the brain.
“You know, I really wish you took some time to reflect on your choices since you’ve been rotting in that cell for five years. But no, you didn’t. And that’s your loss, because you missed out on what could have been the best experience in your lifetime” Luna said
Her hands released from Medusa’s throat but quickly grabbed the woman’s shoulder, swinging her harshly into the stone wall, breaking the blocks behind her and watching the roof crumble into dust, failing over their heads. Luna didn’t stop, her grip on the woman tighten as she aimed up.
Luna flew their bodies upwards just as she died the last time with Medusa’s head grazed against the crumbling wall, she screamed in pain as she tried to fight. Air gushed past them as Luna flew faster. She smirked and grabbed the woman, using her as a shield as she pushed her body up to the roof, reliving the exact moment of her past five years ago.
“Aghhh” Medusa screamed when her body collided with the stone roof, the power and speed Luna had been travelling with busted the many layers of the castle wide open
Concrete cracking and forming circles as they pushed through layer after layers, splitting the wooden attic and busting through the stone roof
As the life fluid drained out of her in it’s garish red, her skin took on the pallor of a corpse. Medusa’s stomach felt sick and then one by one she lost control of her limbs until finally her head slumped again.
She could still hear, but she could control parts of her body, the pain of her body breaking through stone was slowly killing her.
Water drenched their bodies when they had shot right into the air, the heavy downpour of rain ran down the girl’s face and soaking what was pure. The storm left everything strong standing.
It came to wash everything anew and show what was rotten, where repairs and nurturing work were needed. Especially the woman in Luna’s arms.
It was the boldest storm anyone could recall in hell, the rain determined in a wind that moved as a well run locomotive.
It flowed off Medusa’s limp body and splattered onto the valley beneath them as they floated in the air.
Tears filled the rim of her eyes that washed away with the pouring rain. The tears flowed unchecked down her cheeks and dripped from her chin. She was too sad to cry out or wail, she just floated there as still as a statue while the magnitude of her loss swept over her.
She cried not for pity of the woman, but the fact that it would be her first kill.
“It looks familiar huh? Being in the exact same spot as where it all began can really fuck you up. Believe me, I know” Luna spat
A/n recommend playing song above now >_< 💖 Her knuckles gripped the woman's body as she leaned her up. Luna's arms reached behind her head with the woman, she felt everything explode within her at once. Every pain, every mistake, the misery Medusa placed her father in five years ago, the broken bones and bleeding bodies or her friend and sister that rested unconscious below them, her father that had a hole in his heart And the fact that she almost died and left Cytheria once more. She took every single inch of it and threw the woman's unconscious body right towards the ground. Medusa's body folded with the air, a burning sensation crept onto her skin, the speed of her body caused a yellow glow to trail behind her, exactly as it did the last time. "But here's the thing mother. This time, something really is going to be different" Luna shouted from the air, as she watched her mother plummet to the ground Luna's chest heaved heavily, the energy continued to charge through her body, feeling all mixed emotions compiled into one Rain fell like it meant to wash them away, like it meant to keep hammering until they smudge like a Monet masterpiece. It sounded like the heavens were knocking on the door to hell. "This time. I'm going to make sure you don't come out alive" Luna whispered to herself Luna tilted her head down to glance at her fallen mother. It reminded her of Lucifer's story, a fallen angel that was broken and had lost everything they knew of. Luna's wings fluttered mid air, keeping her balanced. Luna knew she had angel blood in her veins but she never truly knew why it would glow white Well, she didn't know that until today. Luna shutted her eyes tightly, the glowing on her veins became brighter and brighter as she mind went to Cytheria's face once again. The reason for that absent time was because of the woman falling to the ground The reason why Luna was suffering mentally was because of the woman falling to the ground The reason her family, her friends, everyone she knew was currently shaking with fear at their future held, was because of the woman falling to the ground Everything that went wrong in her life all started because of that woman. But it was time to let that go, start fresh. Get rid of the negativity in her life. And so Luna was ready to do just that. The glow in her veins became brighter. Luna's eyes finally opened once again as the black that had once consumed her was now mixed with a silver glow around the rim of her eyes. Luna inhaled deeply, allowing a cold chill of air to enter her lungs, filling what was hot into something cold. Her eyes locked onto the falling woman like a target, her arms lifted into the air as Luna allowed the cold breeze to swarm around her like a vortex. The wind was roaring in the great bare trees of the centre, as if it were some wild dark grove deep in a forgotten land. Storms reminded her of fire. The dark grey clouds were like ash and soot while lighting was the memory of a fire that once burned bright. The darkness in Luna's eyes were slowly being consumed by the silver glow at the end, spreading to her pupils to replace the colour to white. The strong glow in her veins started to trail to her palms, slowly reaching her fingertips like running water. We can never truly feel another's pain, but that scream of Luna's came close. It was the kind of scream that puts every other thought on hold and roots everyone close in the very same agony. The vibrations left her throat as she aimed her hands down to the falling woman, Luna's eyes silver and body glowing as if she turned into a ball of white gas Then it finally happened. Streaks of pure white crackled through Luna's fingertips with stormy blanket of grey, shrouding hot silver clouds standing above her. Its blinding incandescence, emanating the might of an imminent tempest. Jagged bolts endlessly protrude, striking downwards with undying flashes of radiance, aiming directly at Medusa's body A bolt of white hot lightning broke the utter blackness, the quick strike landed to Medusa's chest, striking directly at her heart. Medusa's flesh was split, mild crimson liquid pops from the barrier and seeps away from the wound. Thick beads crawling as brisk as it travels etching red streaks that crisp with advancing time. The bleeding woman made Luna smile. It was exactly as she remembered, pushing the woman into the air and leaving her unconscious. Then throwing her to the ground below, fire leaving her skin with the fast impact of falling. But this time, she had stroke her mother with lightening, the lightening in her soul she had no idea she had in the first place.
